F1 2013 release date announced

F1 2013 will be released on October 4 in the UK and October 8 in the North America, Codemasters has announced. Boasting all of cars, circuits and star drivers from the current F1 season, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game will launch in standard and ‘Classic’ editions. Both will come with cars, drivers and tracks from the 1980s, while the premium version will also feature iconic 1990s content, which will be made available as optional DLC too.
At a recent preview event, we got the chance to get behind the wheel of a number of classic cars, including the 1992 Williams Renault FW14B, perhaps the greatest race car ever made. We said: “In the year where something had to be done differently to avoid turning the series into a FIFA-style incremental update fest, the classic content has made this an essential purchase for any F1 fan.”
Explaining Codemasters’ decision not to bring the series to new platforms, creative director Steve Hood said earlier this month that a Wii U version “would have to be a very different game just to run" on Nintendo's console, while a Vita version "just doesn't make financial sense".
To coincide with today’s launch date announcement, Codemasters has released a hot lap video on the Hungaroring circuit, which will stage this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix:
